"Tanger s.r.o." . . . . . . . "Transformation temperatures of binary alloys from the system Ti-Ni are highly sensitive to chemical composition of the alloy. This sensitivity causes rather considerable complications already at the process of their preparation. Transformation temperatures of binary alloys rich in Ni can be successfully modified. The key to modification of transformation temperatures consists in use of precipitation reaction of the quenched over-saturated solid solution for influencing composition of the TiNi matrix and by this for precise control of transformation temperatures. Principle of this method lies in metastable equilibrium between an inter-metallic phase TiNi and coherent precipitates Ti3Ni4. Although Ti3Ni4 precipitate is considered to be metastable in comparison with TiNi3, it is highly stable at temperatures below 600\u00B0C. Ti3Ni4 is created during precipitation reaction and this phenomenon is connected with drop of Ni content in TiNi matrix, which results in an increase of temperatures of phase transformations TR (temperature of creation of R-phase) and Ms (temperature martensite start). Very important is the fact that transformation temperature after a long-time ageing is independent on chemical composition of the alloy and it depends only on the temperature of ageing as a result of equilibrium between these phases. This phenomenon should not occur during ageing at higher temperatures, creation of the precipitate Ti3Ni4 should occur only during cooling down of the sample from the ageing temperature. The alloy Ni50.6-Ti (at.%) prepared in high-frequency induction vacuum furnace was chosen as experimental alloy. Samples of the alloy were sealed in evacuated quartz tube and they were aged at a constant temperature with application of various dwells. Afterwards transformation characteristics of the samples were measured by method DSC."@en . "3"^^ . "Ageing of binary Ti-Ni alloy and its influence on transformation characteristics" .
