"Laboratory experiments confirmed that both vitrinite reflectance (Ro) and volatile combustible (Vdaf) depended on the temperature (t) and time interval of thermal alteration in inert atmosphere. Relations between Ro and t and Vdaf and t are of monotonic character. It was found out that Ro and Vdaf were affected more significantly by the temperature than by time interval of thermal alteration. Using QC Expert the second-degree polynomial regression equations between the temperature (t) and parameter (Ro) and between the temperature (t) and parameter (Vdaf) were calculated for selected heating time intervals of 1,24 and 120 hours. These regression equations can be used for temperature interval of 350-1100 st. C for the estimation of temperature of coal alteration in inert atmosphere.
