These materials were treated with hydrochloric and sulphuric acid at the atmospheric and elevated pressure. More than 90% of zinc can be leached with the diluted HCl solution at the temperature about 250\u00B0C from the synthetic zinc ferrite while 98% of iron remains in the solid residue. A laboratory model for the countercurrent leaching at the atmospheric pressure was built. The equipment operation was optimized in term of the sludge and sulphuric acid amount, and operation time. About 38% of zinc can be extracted with 1M H2SO4 solution from 1 kg of the sludge while only 1.1 % of iron merges into the solution."@en .
