"Numerical model, which was made in Department of Thermal Engineering V\u0160B ? TU Ostrava, enables to explore influence of technological parameters changes, like casting velocity, casting temperature, fluid level in mould, intensity of cooling etc., on temperature field kinetics of round blank. Results of mathematical modeling respond to real values only in case that for the simulation are used correct conditions of uniqueness of solution, especially surface conditions in primary and secondary area of cooling. In the paper is for the every block blank shown dependence of metallurgical length on fluid level in mould. Every block blank from steel has diameter 410 mm and contains 0.66 w.%C. Concrete values of surface conditions were won by working process experiments on the real casting equipment and also by research on the laboratory model of secondary cooling area."@en .
