"Process of heat transfer in CC mould is one of important factors influencing work of casting machine. Intervention into the mould cooling design may result, by different heat removal, in changes of solidification process and in the end it may cause diminished quality of blanks. The contribution deals with consideration of groove depth influence upon heat removal and temperature field of round mould with diameter 540 mm. Study of increasing cooling water velocity resulted into an idea of groove depth reduction. The velocity would rise from 3,43 m.s-1 to 4,41 m.s-1 in case of groove depth reduction from 18 mm to 14 mm. Results of numerical simulation turned out, that mould wall temperatures are higher, namely on the working surface, in case of smaller groove. Decrease of the wall temperature to the value characteristic for the groove depth 18 mm demands increase of water rate approximately by 45 %."@en . . "Mol\u00EDnek, Ji\u0159\u00ED" . .
