"Surface quality of continually cast slabs is significantly influenced by secondary cooling zone. High efficiency of air - water cooling is given by fine sprayed cooling water droplets and their considerable kinetic energy. For understanding of thermal -kinetic phenomena are used mathematical simulations, and first of all, experiments in laboratory and plant conditions. Heat removal in secondary cooling zone is considered by means of hot model laboratory experiments of secondary cooling of continuous c asting. Cooling effects of twofold air - water nozzle LECHLER 100.638.30.24 were proved by the hot model. The results are evaluated in 3D graphs as dependence of heat transfer coefficient a in coordinates x, y, at the air pressure 0.2 MPa and water pressure range from 0.2 to 0.8 MPa.
