"The basic step in the treatment of acid mine water treatment before discharge to receiving their neutralization is guided mainly by removing iron, manganese and part of the heavy metals present in dissolved form. Most often it is used to neutralize the calcium hydroxide in the form of milk of lime. A negative consequence of the use of hydrated lime is to increase the hardness of the treated water and a hardly odvodniteln\u00E9ho sludge, which could be partially solved by the use of calcium carbonate, or a combination of both agents. In this paper investigated the effect of calcium carbonate in neutralizing acid mine drainage from the site of the quarry George Sokolov. Attention was focused on the economical and technologically effective methods of neutralization. The samples were monitored waveform changes in pH, initial and final concentrations of iron and manganese. Last but not least, an evaluation of the economics of respecting the current prices of reagents. Cost savings on neutralizing agents when a combination of both agents are about 30%, independent use of calcium carbonate is shown under the conditions as economically unprofitable."@en .
