"The accurate identification of the key objects is essential for the proper functionality of modern automated systems. Nowadays there are many possible methods of identification. The necessary requirement for the identification process is the object marking. There are various methods of marking. The best known structure is the alphanumerical code, barcode or 2D code. All these ways have its typical advantages and disadvantages but in general all of them can not be used without the direct visibility or for identification of higher quantity of objects at once. These are critical features for the security area applications. The only technology that fulfills those necessary features is radiofrequency identification (RFID) that works with RFID tags marked objects. The only recognition of the tag on the object is insufficient. The acquired data has to be collected, processed, filtrated, enhanced by the business meaning of the event. After the data processing the results has to be uploaded to a system with a standardized database scheme that offer the data for further use in registration systems. This document makes a short report from the ongoing project of application the ultra high frequency (UHF) RFID technologies into the field of gun management. This project is managed by the ILAB RFID \u2013 International RFID Laboratory at the V\u0160BTechnical University Ostrava. Objectives of the research are to realize essential tests and necessary analyses that are required for the proper design of the newly created gun management system for the Police of the Czech Republic. Current tasks lie in the analysis of the processes that will be automated and in the definition of the optimal parameters of the UHF transponder, its location and the method of attachment to the body of the gun." . .
