"Paper deals with one of the possibility how to estimate of wind velocity-power characteristic of wind turbine with vertical axis of rotation (VAWT) by the help of CFD (Com-puter Fluid Dynamics) software. CFD analysis is combined by real mechanical and electrical properties of axial synchronous generator which is directly connected to output shaft of wind turbine and loaded by external circuit (combination of inductances and resistors). Steady-state simulation serves for estimating of locked-rotor torque and quasi-static simulation is used for computing of mechanical torque in dependence of speed revolution of shaft of wind turbine.
