"This paper deals with the sensorless control of the switched reluctance motor and the non-linear theory de-scribing its behavior. The sensorless method, which is based on flux-linkage, is used for rotor position estimation in the control of the switched reluctance motor. It is neces-sary to determine a correct value of the phase winding resistance and to have accurately measured phase currents and voltages to obtain good results in the rotor position estimation. The stator phase resistance changes during motor operation due to its temperature dependency. This resistance change causes an error in the position estima-tion. Therefore there is a phase resistance estimation algo-rithm incorporated in the sensorless control. To obtain precisely measured values of the phase current and voltage, a high-rate A/D converter was designed and made.
