"The traction transformer substation is used to the feeding of AC railway traction 25 kV, 50 Hz. There is usually installed a single-phase transformer 110/27 kV with the rated power 10 MVA in the substation. The traction transformer belongs to the biggest origins of the asymmetry and current harmonics in the power system. Therefore it has marked impact on the energy quality in the point of their connecting to the supply network. There is the filtration compensation equipment (FCE) for this purpose in the traction transformer substation to decrease current harmonics and to increase a power factor low value of the traction load. This paper deals with the evaluation of characteristic values on the primary side of the traction transformer determined from measured instant voltage and current values. There are discussed two operating conditions, namely with the connected and disconnected FCE to the secondary side of the traction transformer.
