Because of lower calorific value, claims on storage spaces are increased. This fact contributes to increasing of risk of fire due to self - ignition. Wood dust has the biggest tendency to self - ignition. Wood dust form due to handling with solid biofuels. Wood dust is also present in plans where the wood is processed. Wood dust can be initiated from a hot surface in these plans. In this paper, two fire technical characteristics of wood dust were determined \u2013 temperature of self \u2013 ignition and minimum ignition temperature. Temperature of self \u2013 ignition was determined according to European Standard EN 15188 \u2013 Determination of the spontaneous ignition behavior of dust accumulations.
