As a consequence specific textbook-based activities emerge in teaching and learning. It is a researcher?s task to find out the appropriate research design to detect and consequently to analyze the broad range of such activities. The most frequent techniques of data collecting used for description of teaching and learning activities in the classroom are not focused on textbook-based activities. Even in international textbook research studies the methods focused primarily on textbook-based activities are sporadic. In the paper the strengths and weaknesses of available techniques are discussed and the methods for exploring the textbook use are suggested."@en .
