"The aim was to assess patients' satisfaction of the surgical departments with the nursing care, to determine relationships between demographic and clinical characteristics of patients and their satisfaction, and to compare patients' satisfaction according to medical facilities, where they were hospitalized. The research sample of 279 patients from 4 hospitals in Ostrava. Data were collected in fall 2009 using the standardized tool PSS. Patients had rated the items, the hospitals were most satisfied with the technical aspects of nursing care, least were satisfied with the information provided to them, valued most the professionalism of nurses. Only 2 demographic characteristics had influenced patients' satisfaction, patients with higher education were more satisfied. The results did not demonstrate any statistical differences in patients' satisfaction according to hospital, nor were demonstrated any significant effects of demographic factors on their satisfaction."@en . .
