"Article presents the results of the PIV measurement of the airflow in different parts of the labial opened organ pipe and the methodology how they were acquired. It shows that the sound produced by the pipe is closely tied to the airflow in and in front of the pipe and that the airflow shape is tied to mechanical properties of pipe. The methodology was developed as an introduction to measurements on pipes with experimentally manipulated mechanical and material properties and to perform this measurement on a larger number of similar pipes to quantify which types of the airflow characteristics are related to which types of the sound features and disorders. The goal to use this quantification is to evaluate the different restoration interventions to organ pipes."@en .
