"The orthodontic plaster casts produced by dental laboratory include useful information about the patients' teeth. In fact, the plaster casts play a key role for the diagnosis and treatment of patients. However, the plaster cast models have several considerable disadvantages: the fact that they are produced from fragile materials increases the risk of being broken during transportation, models require special storage area and it is difficult to share the specific information with other specialists involved in the treatment. The digital image of plaster cast represents a way how to address all the previously mentioned challenges. Nowadays, the dental digital image is provided with various different imagining technologies in two or three dimensional spaces that require image processing. This paper compares the result provided by the proposed method with the results of two other segmentation methods based on two dimensional image of the plaster cast."@en . "7"^^ . "4"^^ .
