"We hereby present the development of an electrochemical biosensor utilizing enzyme immunoassay for detection of various protein molecules. The aim is to fabricate a versatile cost available biosensor with at least same or lower detection limits as commonly used techniques. The detection of a model analyte relies on the monitoring redox reaction which is catalyzed by an enzyme marker. The analyte is marked with the horseradish peroxidase (HRP) enzyme. The electrochemical methods for the purpose of detection via the monitoring of redox reaction were cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). A microfluidic chip with incorporated gold electrodes was fabricated for this purpose. Here we present measurements with HRP enzyme without immobilization and development of immobilization of proteins on gold electrodes studied by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy."@en .
