This generator is based on the application of aqueous solution with HCl and nitrobenzene solution of hydrogen form of hexachlorodicarbollylcobaltate. Radioisotope 90Sr is originally present in the organic phase. Two ligands can be used to obtain high efficiency of Sr/Y separation. The first extraction system comprises 0.2 M solution of hydrochloric acid in the aqueous and the organic phase contains 0.014 M (H+,B-) and 0.0056 M 15-crown-5. The second extraction system uses the organic phase containing 0.03 M (H+,B-) and 0.015 M benzo-15-crown-5. The advantage of this extraction generator lies in the fact that 90Sr is presentin low nitrobenzene phase and the daughter 90Y radioisotope is currently re-extracted to upper aqueous phase. This technique for the separation of product is easier than in the case of a light organic phase application. The separation factor Y/Sr-10e5 f"@en . .
