"An alternative approach to the characterisation of petroleum mixtures is shown. Traditional methods can be abandoned when real components instead of pseudo-components are selected to form the substitute mixture. Algorithms for the selection of real comp onents and for the determination of the mixture composition are presented. Also questions concerning the requirements on a database of real components used for this purpose are discussed. Application of the proposed approach is illustrated on a practicalexample."@en .
