Batch cultivation informed us about the behaviour of our microbial population on the medium used. Then we carried out several cultivations by the fed-batch technique (the traditional technique used for high-cell-density cultivation).Membrane-coupled bioreactor (MBR), working with complete cell recycle, overcomes the problems of low floculate ability of thermophilic microorganisms and eneables us to increase the cell density.
