"The article presents the results of laboratory experiments. The aim of experiments was to verify the possibility of using membrane separation processes for the preparation of drinking water from various even contaminated sources. Laboratory experiments were performed modeling the production of drinking water directly from the samples of surface water. Laboratory membrane separation unit with a plate and frame membrane module was used for experiments. Several types of ultrafiltration, nanofiltration and reverse osmosis membranes were tested. Tested membranes were compared based on their performance and removal efficiency inorganic, organic and microbial contamination.
