"The activity of anaerobic biomass is dependent on various factors. One of those is the presence and availability of macro- and micronutrients in the substrate, which are essential for biochemical conversion of organic substrate to biogas. Many of important micronutrients are metals, which are often parts of enzymes or parts of their cofactors. The nutrient requirements vary strongly for different throphic group of microorganisms. The aim of the presented study is to introduce micronutrients, which are essential for different microorganisms regarding to their metabolism. There is evaluated the content of micronutrients in substrates frequently used in biogas plants. The influence of micronutrients addition on the anaerobic biomass activity is discussed.
