"As a result of the ongoing progress in the development of membrane technologies, the number of applications using this separation technology is increasing. Due to its advantages the membrane modules were mainly used in technological lines, which process waste waters from industrial enterprises. Gradually, applications in processing household and community waste waters have started to appear more frequently. The largest municipal wastewater treatment plant in the Czech rep. with membrane separations is currently located in South Bohemia and its capacity is 400 equivalent inhabitants. Several parameters have been monitored during its operation, especially the quality of the effluent from the wastewaters treatment plant, the effectiveness of cleaning water contamination, the quality of activated sludge, and the impact of EPS and phosphorus precipitation.
