"Biomass is renewable source of energy and its importance grows in conjunction with state policy orientated at savings, higher utilization of renewable energy sources and reduction of carbon dioxide emissions. Nowadays, the most exploited sorts of biomass are wood, wood processing industry wastes and agronomical waste. There are several ways of biomass utilization for heat and electric energy production. The most used way of utilization of biomass is direct combustion. In small scale is this method useful only for heat production. The gasification of organic matter followed by gas utilization in cogeneration unit is another (and more) useful method for biomass exploitation. In this paper there are presented results of measurements made on gasification units, whose gas is used for internal combustion engines propulsion."@en .
