"In the paper the dissolution process of dolomite in dilute nitric acid has been studied. This process belongs among heterogeneous non-catalysed reactions and it is widely used in chemical technology, especially in the production of fertilizers. Dolomite is an important industrial commodity due to the magnesium content. The aim was to test and compare three different techniques. The dependencies of dolomite conversion degree on time were obtained using the gravimetric or pH stat methods. The third one used a chemical analysis of the liquid phase during reaction. All experiments were carried out in batch or semi-batch reactor at constant temperature and the same stirring. Kinetic study was done with monofraction (0.4 ? 0.5 mm) of dolomite from Vrchlabi locality. Nitric acid was used at 100 mol.m-3 concentration and the reaction was monitored in the temperature range from 20 \u00B0C to 60 \u00B0C.
