After separated dismantling these batteries, the undersize fractions - 10 mm with 21% Zn, 34% Mn and 0,12% Fe for alkaline batteries and 21% Zn, 26% Mn and 1,62% Fe for zinc?carbon batteries, respectively were obtained. To determine the leachability of electrode materials size fractions (mm) - 10 + 4; - 4 + 2; - 2 + 1 and - 1 were prepared. Size fractions obtained from alkaline batteries contained\u00A017?30% Zn, 27?40% Mn and from zinc-carbon batteries 18-25% Zn, 19?25% Mn. Leaching tests were performed with undressed and ground samples of the size fractions obtained. All samples were water?leached to remove alkaline metals and/or chlorides and then processed in 15% H2SO4 to establish leaching kinetics. The extraction efficiencies of Zn and Mn determined for alkaline batteries moved from 80% to almost 100% Zn and from 19% to 25% Mn and for zinc?carbon batteries" . "5"^^ . "Jandov\u00E1, Jitka" .
