"Semiconductor photocatalysis currently constitutes a promising method for cleaning the environment, whether it is the degradation of toxic liquid substances (pesticides), gas (VOC) and solid phase (fats), or the ability to inactivate microorganisms. For this purpose it is currently available a large number of commercial photocatalyst. This work is therefore devoted to a comparison of photocatalytic properties of a number of commercial powder materials based on TiO2. As a model substance to determine photoactivity in the liquid phase was used azo dye Acid Orange 7 (AO7). Degradation rate of AOII was determined in batch photoreactor where the photocatalyst mixed in either a suspension or as a layer. Mixed slurry photocatalyst is better for high-speed mass transfer and use of the entire surface of the photocatalyst.
