"Monazite is perhaps omnipresent accessory mineral in granites, migmatites and paragneisses of the Moldanubian area. Microprobe analyzes from migmatite-like rock near Sudom\u011B\u0159ice at T\u00E1bor are presented; the monazite has high content of U and usually of Th, Y and HREE too. Monazite ages from new data as well as from literature are discussed. The explanation why no reliable pre-Variscan ages have been found up to now is in the fluid-activity at Variscan metamorphism and partial melting; this fluid activity was more significant than high temperatures. Effects of radioactivity which have not been investigated up to now are described. Migration of matter in a volume much greater than the visibly affected close vicinity of the radioactive grain must have occurred. The transport of elements is explained mainly with migration of fluid inclusions via dissolution/recrystallization of host minerals.
