"The main goal of the presented work was to prepare the multicomponent layers with photocatalytic activity, good chemical stability and protection against diffusion of Na+ from the substrate into the layers. Presence of Na+ in TiO2 layers results in the decrease of photocatalytic activity. For the preparation of all types of layers the sol-gel method was used. The titaniumisopropoxide (TiO2), tetraethoxysilane (SiO2) and polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) were used as precursors. It was found that the inorganic-organic layers consisting of PDMS/SiO2 represented the functional layer against diffusion of Na+ from the glass substrate. Therefore the three-component layer consisting of PDMS/TiO2/SiO2 represents an optimal solution."@en .
