Galvanized stee\u016F reinforcement may violate the bond strength due to hydrogen evolving during the first phase of galvanized steel exposure to alkaline concrete mixture. The presented work critically assesses the methods of testing the steel-to-concrete bond strength and introduces new ones comparing objectively bond strengths of both galvanized steel and uncoated carbon steel.
