"The main aim of this research is to prepare the system of anode-electrolyte-cathode on the base of conducting polymers for the PEM type fuel cells. Polypyrrole (PPy) and polyaniline (PAni) were chosen as the most suitable CPs for this study. As the most promising synthesis method the diffusion method is proposed based on the separation of monomer and oxidant solutions by the membrane. Monomer diffuses through the membrane to the oxidant side, where it is polymerized. Similarly to the monomers, the CP film present on the membrane surface deteriorates methanol permeation through the composite seriously. Permeability obtained for PPy and PAni do not differ substantially and they are lower by approximately two orders of magnitude when compared to the pure Nafion# membrane."@en .
