"The paper deals with optical switches, which are one of the basic elements of advanced communication systems. The aim of the work was to investigate experimentally the behaviour of a capacitor with a turning electrode and to propose an apropriate model. Measurements of the slope of the turning electrode vs external voltage were carried out on a designed and manufactured macromodel. Obtained experimental results were compared with expressions derived from both a) virtual work and b) atractive force given by Coulomb law. On the base of the computed electrical moments the set of contours was made up describing dependence of electrical moments on electrode's tilting. The reaction of the systems was obtained by comparing mechanical and electrical moments.Derived expressions were applied for an estimation of parameters of microelement described in paper [6]."@en .
