"1"^^ . "2"^^ . "Introduction Isoflavones (3-phenyl chromones) are biologically active secondary metabolites found in a limited number of taxa with unclear phylogenetic relationships. They are abundant particularly in the Fabaceae family (over 1000 known structures) and a few others, e.g. Iridaceae, Moraceae, Rosaceae, Chenopodiaceae. In this study, we have tested selected representatives of the Solanaceae family for the presence of ten metabolites synthesized at the early steps of the isoflavonoid biosynthetic pathway. Six compounds of interest were aglycones (i.e. daidzein, genistein, formononetin, isoformononetin, biochanin A, prunetin) and four were glycosides (i.e. daidzin, genistin, ononin, sissotrin). Materials and Methods Plant material was obtained in the Botany Garden of Charles University and in Czech University of Agriculture. Following species have been tested: Nicotiana tabacum, N. alata., N. sanderae, N. glauca, N. silvestris, Lycopersicon esculentum, Solanum dulcamara. Leaves and flowering top"@cs . "480506" . . .
