The HR of eland was previously measured only during sedation. Therefore, we wanted to evaluated HR in eland according to different behaviour and circadian rhytmicity. We measured HR by Polar S610 device in one adult male and one adult female. Behaviour during recumbent and rumination, standing and rumination, standing, standing and eating, movement, excitement during feeding, stressful event, handling in restraint box and sleep were recorded and synchronised with data from HR devise. The lowest HR was measured for both animals during recumbent and rumination and sleep in female. The highest HR was measured during behaviour, where movement and stressful stimuli were combined, namely excitement during feeding by keeper, stressful event and handling in restraint box. We found higher HR in the most of behaviour during the night. Further research should focus on explanation of dif"@en . . "Žižková, Kateřina" .
