"Dandelion prefers locations with efficient water and nutrient content in the soil. Frequent cutting of the biomass leads to rapid increase of dandelion presence in perennial fodder crops as well as in ornamental and sport lawns. Achenes germinate very well in wide range of temperatures from 10 to 25\u00B0C. This species is relatively tolerant to water stress during germination, significant decrease of germination rate was observed as low as by -0,5 MPa of water potential. Under field conditions, dandelion emerges at best from the soil surface (achenes are positively photoblastic) or from the depth 1 cm. The emergence can occur all through the vegetation period, even if the highest rate of emergence can be found in autumn and than in the spring. Vegetative spread by roots is less important (compare to other perennial weed species) only regeneration of root fragments occurs after the tillage.
