Vegetative reproduction via root fragments as a result of soil tillage is less intensive. Both species are long-day plants so the highest reproduction occurs under the condition of longer photoperiod. Dock species belong to noxious weed species on permanent grassland (pastures, meadows), can be found on arable land mostly in perennial fodder crops and on fields, where those crops were planted in previous year. Dock species are relatively sensitive to many herbicides, especially to synthetic auxins (MCPA, 2,4-D, dicamba, dichlorprop-P, fluroxypyr, etc.) and many sulphonylureas (tribenuron, thifensulfuron, amidosulfuron, etc.).
