"Increasement of poppy seed area brings insufficiences in growing technology, which is re-lated to stands establishment and seed treatment. Seed rate of poppy seed in practice is nearly six times higher than it is necessary to establish optimum dense stand. We monitored influence of seed classification in spring poppy, cultivars Major and Lazur during 2006 - 2007. Classifi-cation was based on prinicple of specific weight and seeds size. The best seed production pro-perties of seed and consequent production abilities were reached in variant of seeds with higher HTS. The highest biology value was found in seeds higher than 1,1mm, but the highest yield was reached with seeds of size 1,0-1,1mm. Different quality of seed can influence perfor-mance of established stand, but also proves significant dependance of poppy seed emergence on environmental conditions."@en . .
