The aim of this study was to determine the distribution of Cd, Pb, and Zn between separate fractions of humic substances and to assess the mobility and bioavailability of organically bound heavy metals in the polluted soils of the alluvium of the Litavka river. Cadmium was bound almost entirely on fulvic acids; the amount bound on humic acids was negligible. Zinc was bound mainly in the fraction of strongly bound fulvic acids, the share of Zn bound on humic acids was also low. Only Pb showed higher amount bound on humic acids.
