"Content of sulphur in soil fluctuates in wide ranges from 20 to 2000 mg S.kg-1. Majority of soil S is bound in organic compounds up to 98 % with the exception of arid soils. Compounds of organic S are divided into two groups: the easily decomposable sulphate esters and carbon bonded S. Sulphate esters are important source of S for plants in short term release, carbon - bonded S is responsible for long-term mineralization. Major input of S was caused by precipitation in past but the fall of SO2 emissionsdecreased S input in all regions of Czech Republic and together with low S input by fertilizers does not cover the need of majority of plants. The input of S should be higher than plant uptake because of high potential of sulphate leaching mainly on san dy acid soils."@en . . . "Pavl\u00EDkov\u00E1, Daniela" . .
