"In 1995 till 1997 field trials influence of environmental conditions of regions with different above sea levels, variety, year and ecological way of cultivation on total polyphenol content (in Agria and Karin variety) and ascorbic acid, glycoalkaloid, nitrate and reducing sugar (RS) contents in potato tubers were investigated. It was determined significantly higher total polyphenol content (46.25 mg/100g) in potato tubers from traditional potato regions of Czech Republic with higher above sea level (cooler and more humid) in comparison with drier and warmer regions of lower above sea levels (43.50 mg/100g). Variety influence was more apparent than locality influence. In potatoes cultivated in ecological way it was found in three-year period higher total polyphenol content in tubers (47.64 mg/100g) than in potatoes cultivated in conventional way (43.20 mg/100g). Significant influence on ascorbic acid content has been shown by the variety. In seven investigated varieties we have found the highest ascorb" . "Z(MSM 412100002)" . "0"^^ . "4"^^ .
