In this area there is no comprehensive methodology based on the automation of business processes. The aim of the paper is therefore to create a process oriented methodology that enables the automation of public administration processes. Basic elements for the creation of the methodology were selected: Workflow Diagram, Activities, Work Products and User Roles. The result is a detailed methodology that gradually accompanies a user through a process of automation of public administration processes and enables to create a comprehencive information system. The methodology consists of five phases: Identifying, Modelling, Configuration, Execution/Monitoring and Optimization.
