"Short review and list of publications dealing with ecophysiological research in millipedes (Diplopoda) in the Institute of Soil Biology of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic is presented. List of used millipede species is given (Tab. 2). Up to the present time, the research was oriented to digestive physiology and metabolism of wide range of species. Activities may be divided into three main branches: digestion (Tab. 1), energy budget (Fig. 4) and adaptation to abiotic factors (Fig. 2, 3).
