A long-term field trial was conducted at Mili\u010D\u00EDn to determine some parameters of soil microbial activity in soil profiles to 0.05-0.1, 0.15-0.20 and 0.25-0.30 m depth under Horsch no-tillage system for about 8 years and parallely under a tillage system used nearby. All other cultural practices on experimental plots were identical all the time. The values of basic respiration Cres were higher by no-tillage variant oftrial in all depths than in tilled. A similar trend was observed in the biomass of microbial carbon content Cmic, but here statistical significantly. Specific respiration Cres/Cmic was in no-tillage variant better in 0.05-0.10m depth only, in next two d epths was this parameter worse than in tilled control. The experimental dates demonstrate that the long-term use of no-tillage system led to an increasing in the microbial activity, even as soil fertility."@en .
