"Despite the common part of our history and the similar socio-cultural features, the population of the Czech and Slovak Republics differ significantly in terms of their expressions of religiosity and religious behavior. Based on the results of three last censuses, we note increasing degree of religiosity difference of these two populations. According to the 2011 census, the share of people declaring religiosity represents 21% in the case of the Czech Republic and 76% in Slovakia. The Roman Catholics are the most numberous in both republics but, when compared to Slovakia, the significant decrease in the proportion of the number of believers is noticed in the Czech lands. On the other hand the Slovak population is not so much liable to smaller, emerging or even exotic religious communities for our region, as it shows the Czech alternative."@en . "13" . .
