"The relationships between achievement motivation, trait anxiety (Spielberger's STAl) on the one hand and Sheldon's temperament types on the other hand were tested in 78 male students ofP,E. The following measures has been administered. Achievement Motive Test, A-trait from Spielberger's STAl and Sm\u00E9ka\u013Es Questionnaire for assessment Sheldon's temperament types. AU questionnaires has been administered in Czech version. Correlations, one-way ANOVA and 2x3 ANOV A were used for statistical evaluation. A one-way ANOV A did not reveal any significant main effect between trait anxiety tertils and achievement striving scores (p=.705). A com plete 2x3 ANOV A was made. Trait anxiety level (low versus high) and temperament types (cerebrotonic, somatotonic, viscerotonic) served as independed variables (factors), whereas achievement striving served as dependent variable.
