We have analyzed how teachers' behavior infuenced the process and the outcomes of learning. We have started from Rheinberg (1989) general model of motivation that enables differentiation between activity specific incentives and incentives for future events. Activity specific incentives are mainly discussed from the point of flow, and both intrinsic motivation and interest in the sence ofSelf-Determination Theory - SDT. Incentives for future events are predominantly discussed from the viewpoint of reference norms, as the case may be teacher reference - norm orientation and its effects on student motivation and classroom climate.
