"Two combinations of final pig hybrids produced by foreign companies operating in the territory of the CR were selected for testing. 96 individuals (47 gilts and 49 barrows) were evaluated in combination A whereas in combination B the results of 95 individuals (48 gilts and 47 young boars) were analysed. The following quantitative traits of carcass value were determined in combination A and in combination B: slaughter weight 114.61 kg and 118.03 kg, respectively; average backfat thickness 22.51 and 23.85, resp.; lean meat 55.62% and 55.25%, resp. Combination A also had better values of some qualitative traits: pH45 6.30 and 6.23, respectively; drip loss 2.76% and 3.75%, resp.; intramuscular fat 2.07% and 1.24%, resp. In both combinations growth ability was higher in barrows (by 3.12 kg in combination A and by 9.41 kg in combination B) while gilts had lower average backfat thickness (by 1.9 mm and 5.62 mm, resp.) and higher muscle proportion (by 2.47% and 3.02%, resp.).
