"The hole drilling method is one of the most widely used method of residual stress measurement. Residual stress is evaluated based on measurement of strain that relieves due to drilling a small hole in a measured material surface. High-speed drilling is the most acceptable drilling technique for standard materials. However, its application to hard materials is very complicated. Hence alternative methods of the hole drilling are developed. Using of high-efficiency pulsed lasers for the hole drilling is analyzed in this contribution. Possibility of producing of the hole of required shape and dimensions is verified. The drilling thermal influence on the measured sample is determined by means of IR thermography and structural analysis. The residual stress measurement is carried out using laser drilling and strain gauge rosettes. The results are compared with the standard high-speed drilling."@en . "6"^^ . "23640" .
