"In recent years there is an apparent decline of use of transmissive methods of education which are gradually being replaced at schools of all levels by interactive and constructivist methods. In the Czech Republic the constructivism at university level is mostly discussed and developed in works of S. \u0160tech, J. Va\u0161utov\u00E1, V. Spilkov\u00E1, and others. We perceive didactic constructivism in its relaxed form and without being overly fundamentalist (which is often justly criticized by e.g. Z. Rendl) as adequate option for face-to-face, distance, and combined study programmes at universities. The goal of the paper is to introduce to the academic community the ESF funded project Constructivism as a good practice in university education, which is a jointly implemented by University of West Bohemia, Tomas Bata University in Zlin, University of South Bohemia Ceske Budejovice., and University of Hradec Kralove. The project aims at motivation of the faculty to incorporate constructivist elements to both face-to-face and distance learning. A new education programme has been developed which will start in two tracks in March and September 2010. It includes a kick-off workshop, on-line course, and individual work of participant on their own methodical modifications of their own courses.
