"The contribution deals with analysis of the rolling contact between the wheel and rail in a railway vehicle and summarizes the forces that develop in the contact patch. The wheel-rail rolling contact problem is studied from an analytical view and functions obtained by spline interpolation from Kalker’s and Hertz’s coefficents are used. Determination of creep forces has a great significance because these forces influence the behaviour of a vehicle running and are very important for the dynamics analysis. Creep forces are determined in accordance with Kalker’s theory which is founded on the using of Kalker’s coefficients. The Replacement discrete values of these coefficients with spline function interpolation makes more accurate numerical solution of creep forces.
